  • Overview

    The Business Analyst will coordinate and facilitate improved processes across various functional areas of the company. This individual will work closely with business primes to define and document requirements and business processes that encompass their daily work.  In some cases, the processes will drive features in software used to support various segments of the clinical trials process.


    • Facilitate and document processes and functional activities for various areas of the business with the goal of improving efficiency and/or quality as well as adapting business processes to meet new or changed business needs
    • Discuss user interface and technical details of technology solutions with business primes and technical engineers
    • Translate business practices into requirements, functional specifications, technology documentation, and/or procedural documentation as well as review, edit, and incorporate business process and related technology materials written by others
    • Provide input to establish standards and procedures for a variety of major business processes including input to procedural document development
    • Create graphical images, flow charts, diagrams, and/or HTML content for inclusion in online documentation related to business processes and technology solutions
    • If applicable when defining a process and related technology, ensure computer systems regulatory compliance for business applications
    • Research unique approaches for technology solutions to address business processes and needs and provide guidance to others on selecting the best solution
    • Update and manage JIRA (project and issue tracking tool) to reflect requirements, priorities, tasks, and/or test cases associated with delivering software projects
    • Ensure that developed or purchased software applications satisfy the specified business requirements using solid evaluation and testing methods



    • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience
    • Ability to work as part of a cross-disciplinary team and to communicate and relate to a diverse number of co-workers
    • Must be detail oriented, organized and able to quickly understand functional area business processes that may be new to them
    • Strong listening skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Familiarity and experience with 21 CFR Part 11 validation requirements and processes is preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, JIRA Project and Issue Tracking software, HTML
