  • Overview

    The Director, Marketing & Brand Strategy will be responsible for driving growth with a focus on developing a federal marketing function at Rho, with particular emphasis on the Department of Defense. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President, Marketing & Brand Strategy, and in conjunction with the current marketing team at Rho, will develop a federal marketing strategy, direct marketing campaigns, manage relevant partner/vendor relationships, and generate qualified leads for business development through industry events, public relations, advertising, and other marketing efforts. This role will be a senior technical expert and will not have line management responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

    • In conjunction with marketing and corporate leadership, develop and oversee a marketing strategy to grow Rho's business within the federal government, with particular emphasis on the DoD.
    • Develop and manage the execution of marketing campaigns targeted to potential federal clients and teaming partners.
    • Organize and execute business development and marketing events.
    • Working closely with our business development and lead generation team, develop, execute, and measure campaign-focused marketing plans and lead generation programs.
    • Collaborate with business development team to build brand awareness within relevant research and client communities in the federal government.
    • Drive digital strategy to focus on increasing pipeline and conversions.
    • Create content assets in conjunction with subject matter experts and ensure that all messaging and materials are in alignment with corporate brand strategy.
    • Conduct public and government relations activities and maintain customer/partner/vendor relationships as necessary.
    • Manage the federal website content.
    • As needed, support current marketing efforts to drive growth in the commercial pharmaceutical/biotech market.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field.
    • 8+ years in professional services/B2B marketing with at least 5 years of experience marketing to the federal government (preference given to experience with DoD) and/or at least 5 years of experience in the life sciences, CRO, biotechnology or pharmaceutical space.
    • Proven experience executing successful end-to-end marketing campaigns that have measurable results and were executed on-time and within budget.
    • Ability to effectively interface with senior management.
    • Must be an active collaborator and team player with the ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
    • Highly organized individual with a proven attention to complex program details.
    • Ability to effectively manage vendor relationships.
    • A self-starter who has strong work ethic and can manage multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Effective presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience driving results in a highly matrixed environment with SMEs and stakeholders from across the company.
    • Understanding of the drug development process, particularly as it relates to clinical trials.
    • Familiarity with marketing automation and digital media/advertising.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to travel as needed.
