Associate Director, Vendor Management

The Associate Director, Vendor Management will be responsible for the oversight and management of Rho’s Vendor Management Program, including creation and implementation of governance structures for priority vendors, tracking key data related to vendor assessments and vendor performance, and providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Strong collaboration, organization, analytical and communication skills are required. The Associate Director, Vendor Management must work effectively cross-functionally to ensure the success of the Vendor Management Program.


  • Assist in the development and implementation of a robust Vendor Management Program to ensure Rho’s chosen vendors are competitive, high quality, responsive, and continuously evaluated on the value they provide.
  • Support and track vendor assessments and audits and communicate status to stakeholders
  • Gather, measure and assess vendor performance using tools such as data dashboards, scorecards, and Key Performance Indicators
  • Assist with the resolution of vendor performance issues, track to resolution, and communicate status to stakeholders
  • Ensure an effective governance structure is established for all priority vendors, and support teams with tracking and scheduling governance meetings, as well as tracking key issues
  • Work cross-functionally with Proposals & Contracts, Legal, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Quality Assurance
  • Assist with proposal development, including preparing vendor bid requests based on RFP specifications, answering vendor questions, and vendor bid tracking and follow-up
  • Coordinate negotiations with vendors related to contracts, pricing, and scope of services
  • Maintain awareness of current and new vendors in the clinical trial space and assist with identification and evaluation of new vendors when necessary.
  • Ensure a high level of communication and customer service both internally and externally
  • Represent Rho in a professional and positive manner when interacting with external stakeholders
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years related experience at a CRO.
  • Minimum of 2+ years in vendor management role at CRO.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Proven Project Management and/or Portfolio Management skills
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders
  • Great durable (soft) skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of stakeholders both inside and outside the organization
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude
