Learning & Performance Specialist I

The Learning and Performance Specialist I designs and develops curriculum for Rho’s Learning & Performance efforts. Duties include creating and developing face-to-face, online, and blended training modules, maintaining internal website content, developing and delivering learning experiences and trainings as appropriate and supporting the coordination of efforts across the Learning & Performance team.


As a member of the Learning & Performance team, you will work with a team of learning experts who engage with cross-functional internal teams and subject matter experts. Working in close collaboration, Learning & Performance supports internal teams both in consultation for improvement of existing processes and in leading capacity-building learning experiences.


  • Developing professional learning curricula
  • Supporting the design of internal eLearning or digital learning modules
  • Authoring and coordinating the development of materials, including consulting with Subject Matter Experts, editing, and formatting materials
  • Scheduling, organizing, and communicating pertinent information for upcoming trainings and meetings
  • Coordinating, producing, and editing audio and video content for eLearning/digital learning, additionally publishing existing eLearning content in HTML5
  • Maintaining and updating internal training catalog content
  • Coordinate training support requests with Organizational Development team
  • Support learning management system updates including new course creation, training assignment, and report generation
  • Use course authoring software to create new training courses and publish in the learning management system
  • Creating evaluation criteria for internal learning and training programs and recording data
  • Providing input on instructional design to Subject Matter Experts who present face-to-face professional learning


  • BA/BS in HR, Education, Instructional Design, Communications, Visual Arts, Psychology, or related field
  • 1-2 years of instructional design and eLearning/digital learning development experience
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally
  • Experience with eLearning and/or adult learning theory preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required; must be able to communicate effectively, positively, and professionally with internal and external clients
  • Proficiency in Windows applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is required as well as the ability to format documents and create document templates
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and balance individual and team responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately and use excellent judgement
  • Must be a team-oriented professional with strong initiative and willingness to learn new things and problem solve
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain flexibility
