Senior Project Manager - Federal Research

The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership for cross-functional, federally funded, clinical research projects and team members. The Senior Project Manager will manage multiple clinical studies and be responsible for providing high-quality project results as well as motivating, training and mentoring team members. The successful applicant for this position will bring experience leading complex projects and developing junior staff.


  • Creating and monitoring study timelines and project plans
  • Mentoring and providing training and orientation for team members
  • Recommending and executing risk management plans
  • Identifying issues within a project and lead the resolution within the team
  • Reviewing and developing protocols, consent forms, manuals of procedures, and other study documents
  • Overseeing all operational aspects of a protocol with clinical sites including responding to site questions or directing them to the appropriate functional area team members
  • Managing team dynamics and providing frequent feedback to team members
  • Managing assigned project resources, including ensuring that project tasks are correctly assigned to staff and vendors
  • Ensuring that study websites and tracking systems contain current and accurate information
  • Ensuring that studies adhere to federal regulations and funding agency oversight requirements
  • Providing support for other contract related operational tasks


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in life science area, or public health
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience managing clinical research projects in some capacity
  • Experience conducting on-site/remote monitoring visits and/or managing activities of a CRA team to achieve project deliverables
  • Experience in protocol development
  • Success in rapidly changing, flexible environment, with ability to prioritize own workload, as well as that of project teams and client counterparts, to meet internal and external deadlines and escalate issues appropriately
  • Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong computer skills
